Common questions
- Do I own my website?
- If you buy it, yes, completely. Once it's paid for, the site and its content are yours to keep, move or change. If you rent, the site is mine while you rent it, but your domain and your content are always yours, and you can buy the site outright whenever you like.
- Can I pay monthly?
- Yes, by renting instead of buying. Launch is £79 a month with a £195 setup fee, Build is £99 a month with a £295 setup fee and Grow is £145 a month with a £395 setup fee. The rent covers the site and the care plan, so hosting, updates, backups and small tweaks are all in. The minimum is 12 months, then it rolls month to month and you can stop with 30 days' notice and no fee. Choose "Pay monthly" when you get in touch and it goes into your quote.
- Is renting cheaper than buying?
- To start with, yes. Over time, no. Keep the site for more than about 20 months and buying it with the care plan works out cheaper than renting. Rent if the upfront cost is what's stopping you; buy if it isn't.
- What if I change my mind?
- You have 30 days from signing up to cancel a rental. The setup fee covers the work done by then, so that's all you pay, and any rent you've paid comes back to you.
- What happens if I stop renting?
- The site comes down when your notice ends. Your domain stays in your name, and your words and photos go with you. If you'd rather keep the site, you can buy it outright at any point: £800 for Launch, £1,200 for Build or £2,100 for Grow, which is the package price less the setup fee you've already paid.
- What counts as a page?
- Anything a visitor can land on and read: your homepage, each service page, pricing, about and contact. Launch covers up to 3 of them, Build up to 6 and Grow up to 10. Grow's area pages don't count towards that, and nor do your privacy, terms and cookie pages.
- What if I cover a lot of towns?
- Grow includes a page for every town you serve, however many that is, on top of its 10 pages. Each has to be somewhere you really work, so there's something true to say about it, and the list is the one we agree in your quote. Towns you add after launch are quoted separately. A long list adds to the timeline, and your quote will say by how much.
- What about hosting and updates?
- An optional monthly care plan covers hosting, updates, backups and small tweaks, and it's included if you rent. Bought your site and prefer to host it yourself? That's fine too.
- Is the price really fixed?
- Yes. You'll get a fixed quote up front, so there are no surprise invoices. If the scope changes, we agree any difference before any work happens.
- Do you offer a discount for charities?
- Yes. Registered charities get 20% off every package, bought or rented, and the care plan. Mention your charity number when you get in touch and the discount goes into your quote.
- What if I need something different?
- These packages cover most service businesses. If you need more than 10 pages, a blog or anything else they don't include, get in touch and I'll put together a tailored quote with a fixed price.
